The removal of bye-runners from the game of cricket tends to spoil the game in the instance of a real on-field injury. When the batsman is unable to run, not allowing him the running assistant makes it unfair and affects the result of the game. Re-introducing bye runners will only provide an equal opportunity as injuries are a part of any sport.

As all the teams possess a physio, runners can be allowed once the consent is given from the opposite team physio after checking up the injured player on the nature of the injury.
