To instill the T20 instinct in the ODI, the ICC made a change to the fielding restrictions allowing only 4 fielders outside the 30 yard circle even during the non-powerplay over’s. Though, the reason for this decision can be justified, this call has made the game unfair to the bowlers.

Even, the T20 format allows 5 players outside the 30 yard circle in regular over’s. To even up the game for the bowlers, either the ICC could revert back to the earlier rule of allowing 5 fielders outside the 30 yard circle or by extending the duration of the bowling powerplay.
