5 Rule changes that will make ODIs richer
5. Start with a new ball and introduce the second one in the 26th over:
There’s a lot of debate about the rule to allow two new balls one from each end. It’s said that spinners find this rule difficult for them as the ball never gets old enough for them to work with comfortably. However, the numbers seems to suggest otherwise, with spinners like Vettori, Ravichandran Ashwin and Imran Tahir achieving success in the recently concluded World cup.
Having the second ball after 26th over will create an element of uncertainty, even for a set batsman. Proper cricketing technique and a plan to build an innings will be duly rewarded if this rule is brought in and will only make the game richer in the process.
