2. Lacklustre performance of Indian Pacers:
It just makes no sense if Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mohit Sharma run at full speeds and ball half way down the track. If they had pace it could have been sensible, but they did not learn the lessons even after five games. Barring Bhuvi’s death over bowling in Chennai they failed to stop the Proteas juggernaut. And in a sense their bowling figures in Mumbai were reflective of their fortunes in the series.
Umesh Yadav, the one who had pace, didn’t use his wisdom and bowled waverdly in the two games he got to play. Bhuvneshwar averaged 49.5 with the ball while Mohit was no better with 43. They allowed easy boundaries to South African openers and were also unable to bowl the Yorkers in the final moments. Compare that with South African quick’s and India’s problems are highlighted even more.
