5 Team India T20 World Cup stars from 2016 who will not play in 2021
Some of the below-mentioned players have already announced their retirements from international cricket.
3. MS Dhoni
MS Dhoni’s run out against New Zealand in the semi-final of the 2019 World Cup was a heartbreaking moment for Indian cricket fans and little did we know that it was also the last time he would step out in national colours. He announced his retirement from international cricket last year and will thus, not be a part of the upcoming tournament.
He scored 89 runs in five games during the event and scored at just over 127 per 100 balls. His amazing effort to run out Mustafizur Rahman on the last delivery of the game against Bangladesh in the group stage will be remembered by the fans for a long time.
In 98 T20Is, Dhoni scored 1617 runs at an average of 37.6 while striking at 126.14. However, those stats don’t do justice to the talent he had and for some reason, he never managed to play at his very best in T20Is. However, he still managed to lead India to the T20I World Cup title in 2007 and is the only captain to have won all three major ICC trophies.
