2. Virat Kohli is no more a captain
In 2017, Virat Kohli took charge of the duties as a skipper for the Indian team across all the formats. Ahead of the T20 World Cup 2021, Kohli announced that he will leave the captaincy in the T20I format to manage the workload better.
In December 2021, Rohit Sharma was chosen as the ODI captain for India, with the BCCI opting to have one captain for the white-ball cricket. After the loss of the Indian team in the South Africa Test series, Kohli relinquished the captaincy role from the red-ball format as well.
He finished with 58.82%, 64.58%, and 68.4% success rates in Tests, T20Is, and ODIs respectively. Along with the Indian team, he left the leadership role for the Royal Challenger Bangalore (RCB) team as well.
