Rohit Sharma was in sensational form during the 2019 WC in England as he slew bowlers on his way to five centuries in the tournament, the most in any single World Cup by a batter. But he was prolific off the pitch as well with his shrewd remarks in response to unconventional questions.
One such incident occurred when the Indian team squared off against the eventual winners England in the 2019 WC group clash.<a href="https://www.crictracker.com/urvashi-rautela-addresses-person-as-rp-in-recalled-incident-fans-claim-him-to-be-rishabh-pant/"> Rishabh Pant</a>, who was not part of the squad initially, joined the team as a replacement for the injured Shikhar Dhawan.
In the post-match presser, when Rohit was quizzed about the team&#8217;s decision to send in the explosive southpaw at no.4 ahead of the in-form Hardik Pandya, the Indian opener, who scored a century in the game, was bemused by the question. The vice-captain silenced the reporters with his typical blunt response, &#8220;You all wanted Rishabh Pant to play right? Amidst widespread criticism of the elegant batter, Rohit Sharma batted for the underfire Indian cricketer and retaliated with a fiery reply to a reporter who asked about Kohli in the aftermath of a poor outing against the English side in the second ODI at Lord&#8217;s. 
The Indian skipper had rubbished talks on his teammate&#8217;s form after the first ODI and was seemingly irritated after the question was raised for a second successive presser.
The reporter enquired about the talk on Virat&#8217;s form, &#8220;Virat Kohli ke baare me itni baat ho rahi hai? (So much is being talked about Kohli).&#8221;
A visibly irritated Rohit Sharma silenced the critics with a raging response, &#8220;Kyon ho rahi hai, matlab mujhe samajh me nhi aata hai? Yaar matlab bande ne itne run banaye hai, mujhe to samajh nahi aa raha form pe discussion kyun ho rhi hai. (Why is it happening, I do not understand. Someone who has made so many runs is being questioned over his form. I don&#8217;t understand this).&#8221;
