IPL has seen players who have become heroes overnight with one good inning with the bat or a good spell with the ball. But, there are few of them who have done very well in the past and are waiting for their turn on the bench.
IPL, being the cash rice league has given many opportunities to many talented players in the XIs. But, a few players were unlucky and might not get into the IPL sides despite being good for their national sides.
Here is the list of the Indian players who are raring to go
1. Irfan Pathan, Chennai Super Kings:
Irfan Pathan has been in and out of the Indian team and has played for quite a few teams in the IPL. He was bought in the auction by the Chennai Super Kings and has been sidelined for a while now. Irfan is a handy player in the T20 format as he can bowl the slower one, capable of deceiving the batsmen and can bat well lower down the order.
He was with the SRH in the previous edition and was picked up by the CSK for a sum of 1.5 Crores.
2. Ashok Dinda, Royal Challengers Bangalore:
Ashok Dinda earned the Indian cap in 2009 and has represented team India in both One day and T20 International. He had done exceedingly well for the KKR, DD, and PWI in the past.
The RCB chose him in 2014 and was not put for sale in 2015 as well. In the previous edition of the tournament, he took five wickets playing nine matches. He is confined to the bench in IPL 8 and waiting for an opportunity to turn things around.
3. Subramaniam Badrinath Royal Challengers Bangalore:
Badrinath, who got the India test cap back in 2010, has done very well with the bat for CSK in IPL. He was bought by the RCB in 2015 after he had a year-long gap between 2014 and 2015 during this period he was not playing for any of the sides in IPL.
Unfortunately, he is still behind the boundary lines and hasn’t got a game so far to prove his worth.
4. Abhimanyu Mithun, Mumbai Indians:
Abhimanyu Mithun is a young fast bowler who has made his debut for the Indian team way back in the year 2010. The Karnataka fast bowler did not have a memorable IPL while playing for the RCB in 2013.
He did fairly well at the first class level but could not carry on the form in the IPL. Mithun is currently playing for the Mumbai Indians and is waiting for his chance to go out there and play for the men in Blue and make the most of the opportunities that come his way.
5. Rahul Sharma, Chennai Super Kings:
Rahul Sharma, the tall leg spinner has made his way into the Indian team in 2011. He represented the Deccan Chargers in 2010 and the next year was picked up by the Pune Warriors India franchise.
He bowled economically and took wickets at a crucial time for the PWI in that edition. Sharma had a forgetful stint with the DD in 2014. He is currently a part of the Chennai Super Kings and is yet to a play a match for MSD side in this IPL.
