Baba Aparajith
Baba Aparajith has been around for a large part of this decade. He made his first-class debut in 2011 and played the Under-19 World Cup in 2012 where he was one of India’s premier all-rounders. Aparajith has been one of Tamil Nadu’s key players across formats for the last few years. This year, he was in fine form with both bat and ball. At No. 3 and 4 (at times), Aparajith was very consistent throughout the tournament.
He may have registered a couple of single-digit scores but apart from that, he had a fabulous tournament. The 25-year-old amassed 598 runs (fourth-most in the tournament) at an average of 66.44 which included six half-centuries and a hundred. Moreover, he struck vital fifties in the quarter-final and the final. In addition to this, his part-time off-spin also yielded 11 wickets.
Thus, Aparajith will be one of the attractions. He has been a part of the IPL before. The Tamil Nadu lad was a part of two IPL squads – Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS). However, he hasn’t made his IPL debut so far. Hence, there is a high possibility that Aparajith may get to make his IPL debut next year.
