The <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/t20/tnpl/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL)</a> has helped discovered some of the good quality cricketers from the state. After his impressive performances in the league, Varun Chakravarthy got picked by the Kings XI Punjab for the last edition of the IPL. For this edition, it could be G Periyasamy.
He picked up 21 wickets in the recently concluded edition of the TNPL and helped the Chepauk Super Gillies lift the title for the second time. Periyasamy, while defending 126 runs in the final, picked up a brilliant five-wicket haul impressing one and all. No other bowler in the TNPL has picked as many wickets as he did in a single season.
With his slingy <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/aakash-chopra-shares-a-video-of-young-sri-lankan-pacer-bowling-like-lasith-malinga/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Lasith Malinga</a>-like action, he has often troubled the batsmen. He executes the yorkers really well and is a very exciting prospect. He never played under the lights with the white ball before TNPL and has had to face a lot of struggles while growing up. If he gets an IPL chance, Periswamy will look to make the most of it and take his game a notch higher.
