Roy was snapped up by Mumbai Indians but with the 4-time champions already boasting of the likes of Rahul Chahar, <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/krunal-pandya-tweets-kbc-answer-featuring-himself-to-amitabh-bachchan/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Krunal Pandya</a>, Jayant Yadav, and Mayank Markande, he managed to play just a solitary game. With Mumbai boasting of a plethora of options, it&#8217;s only prudent that they release Roy from their squad ahead of IPL 2020.

<h3>4. Anmolpreet Singh (Mumbai Indians)</h3>

 The Patiala brothers- Anmolpreet Singh and Prabhsimran Singh- went for big bucks in the 2019 IPL Auctions. While wicketkeeper-batsman Prabhsimran Singh was picked up by Kings XI Punjab for Rs 4.8 Crore, his cousin Anmolpreet- a top-order batsman- was racked up the Mumbai Indian for Rs 80 Lakh.
But, then again, with Mumbai boasting of enough top-order options like Quinton de Kock, Rohit Sharma, Evin Lewis, and Suryakumar Yadav, Anmolpreet Singh did not get a single game in the 12th edition.
It is highly unlikely that he will get any chance in the coming season as well. With sides like RCB struggling at the top of the order, Singh could be a good option, provided MI to release him ahead of IPL 2020.

<h3>5. Karun Nair (Kings XI Punjab)</h3>

You&#8217;ve got to feel for Karun Nair. The second Indian ever to get a triple hundred, the first-choice member in the 18-man Test squad in England, and still, players from the outside came and played while he continued to warm the bench for obscure reasons.
The year 2018 was abysmal, to say the least for Nair. And, it was only in the national set-up where he was out of favor. In the IPL too, Nair did not get any chance to showcase his skills. With the Kings XI Punjab opting to choose Mandeep Singh and Sarfaraz Khan ahead of the Karnataka batsman, Nair featured in just one game in IPL 12.
To be fair, Nair&#8217;s form in the past two seasons leading into the 2019 edition was nothing to write home about. The right-hander had managed 301 and 281 runs at an average of 25.08 and 21.61 respectively. His form in the ongoing Vijay-Hazare Trophy has been even more abysmal: 66 runs in six games, and it is only fair that KXIP release in IPL 2020, considering that they have enough options in the middle-order.

IPL franchises aren't properly using these players and it would be good if they release them.
