4. Krishnappa Gowtham
The 32-year-old spin-bowling all-rounder has finally managed to get a national call-up. Well, this is a huge surprise as he has been warming the benches for CSK. He has been picked up by many franchises for a high price, so high that this year, CSK paid him INR nine crores. Well, it looks like he is a special talent and the India selectors have given him a proper chance by picking him up for this tour.
He can bowl tight lines and offers almost nothing to work for the batsmen. This makes him a difficult bowler to face. Adding on, he is a decent striker of the ball. Therefore, he is a valuable lower-order batter. With Ravindra Jadeja playing the Test matches, Gowtham can impress the selectors to become the backup for Jadeja in the future.
Gowtham has played 24 games so far. Till now, he has picked 13 wickets at an economy rate of 8.26. With the bat, he has scored 186 runs with a strike rate of 169.09. Hence, Dhawan could use Gowtham to accelerate the innings during death overs.
