The decimator is known for his heroics on the cricket pitch whether with a bat or ball in hand. The Trinidad all-rounder has been a part of IPL ever since its inception in 2008. However, he had donned three different jerseys with pride in the past 13 years. To everyone’s surprise, he became the first West Indies player to captain an IPL team in 2010.
Following the absence of the then captain of MI Sachin Tendulkar, the team management showed confidence on the champion to lead the side for the one-off match against Kolkata knight riders at the iconic Eden Gardens. However, he could not make the team cross the line of triumph as the batting heavyweights of KKR snatched the match by 9 wickets in hand.
Cricket fans all around the world await to see the champion wear the yellow jersey in this year’s IPL. It would be a treat to once eyes to watch this stalwart take on the field.
