Having the capacity to do wonders with the bat, the 5’3’’ solid-wicketkeeper batsman eventually went on to play for the Indian cricket team. Chennai Super Kings picked the heavyweight due to his batting prowess for the first two seasons. However, he signed a contract with Kochi Tuskers Kerala in the fourth edition of the cricketing carnival.

On 16th May 2011, he led the 11 players for a single match after taking the reigns from Mahela Jayawardene. His efforts seemed not enough as the team bowed down against Chennai Super Kings at M.A Chidambaram stadium.

The cricketing maestro’s career statistics are suggestive of his beautiful and well-balanced knocks against strong teams. Scoring a sum total of 2848 runs in 139 IPL matches speaks volumes about his potential. The vintage match-winner will be seen wearing reds on Monday, 21st September. He would walk down from the RCB dressing room to play bold against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Time will speak what the future has in store for this pocket-sized dynamite.
