6. Luke Wright received a blender in Dhaka Premier League:
Luke Wright arrived as a potential hard-hitting finisher for England. He gave them a solid finisher option down the order along with his handy medium-pace bowling. A potential all-rounder for limited-overs cricket did well for the Brits during the late 2000s and early 2010s. He was also a part of England’s World T20 winning squad in 2010.
Later, the all-rounder focused more on T20 cricket and played in various T20 leagues all around the globe. He earned quite a lot of fame as a handy bowler and heavy hitter lower down the order. In one such tournament, Wright the won the Man of the Match award for his commendable performance on the field.
But surprisingly, the award turned out to be a blender which was quite awkward. Though an award is an honour after all and he took it in quite sportingly. He even posted a picture on his twitter handle, where he can be seen receiving the blender from one of the sponsors.
“Pleased we won my first match for Abhanai today. Have to say I have never been given a blender for MoM before,” he wrote.
