Even though India faced an embarrassing Test series loss in their recent trip to New Zealand they are still the top-ranked side in the red-ball arena. Besides they are the table-toppers in the Test championship rankings with 360 points. In short, Virat Kohli‘s men have been dominating the format as they have won the Test championship mace for three consecutive years.

Such has been their dominance that they have won 4 of their last 10 matches with an innings margin. A couple of years ago they also created a unique record of dismissing a team twice on the same day of a Test match when they hosted Afghanistan for their inaugural 5-day game. However, very few know that the Indian team has also experienced a similar situation.

Back in 1952, when India played England in Manchester, the team suffered one of the most humiliating batting collapses. The team led by Vijay Hazare bundled out twice on the 3rd day of the match and became the first team to be dismissed in such manner. They could only manage a total of 140 runs in both innings and more importantly, they lost 20 wickets in a span of 58 overs.
