The Caribbean Premier League (CPL) has slowly emerged as one of the best platforms for young talented bowlers in the Islands to showcase their talent and gain some reputation. Despite some of the most explosive batsmen participating in the league, the bowlers have managed to maintain even balance in the contest between bat and ball. The inaugural season saw many young names do well in the limited opportunities they got. They have been quite innovative and put in extraordinary efforts to outclass their counterparts and hog the limelight. This year again will be their chance to shine. Here we throw some light on the 5 Young spinners who we expect to do well in CPL 2016.

<strong>1. Nikhil Dutta &#8211; St Kitts and Nevis Patriots:</strong>

Jonathan Foo is one of the few cricketers of Chinese descent playing cricket at the top level. The young all-rounder who hails from Berbice in Guyana region comes from the same region which produced the likes of Alvin Kallicharran and Rohan Kanhai. Foo was an unheard name until he emerged as one of the rising stars in the inaugural edition of CPL. He is yet to play for Guyana at the domestic level but his handy combination of explosive batting and more importantly his leg-break bowling will be very useful for his team this season.

Tabraiz Shamsi first earned a reputation for himself playing for the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots in the CPL. The Chinaman bowler is currently on a high. Post CPL, Shamsi was picked by the Royal Challengers Bangalore in this season’s IPL, playing four matches for them. This paved the way for his international debut for South Africa. The 26-year-old spinner is yet to gain a significant amount of international experience but knows the Caribbean conditions quite well. Left-arm spinner Akeal Hossain is yet to flourish but already has shown a lot of promise in little time. He has been a consistent performer at the Under-19 level for West Indie and Guyana. The last six first-class games have seen him claim 10 scalps at a decent economy rate of around 7 runs an over. So far in his short career, he has a tally of 27 wickets in 14 games. The last season he did not get any opportunity to bowl but considering the decent run of form he has experienced in recent time, Akeal can surely hope for some better opportunities with the ball.
