6 Batsmen who have scored a double hundred and a duck in the same Test match: In sports, the phrase “All or Nothing” is heard way too often. There have been a lot of players who have been living examples of this phrase. There have been instances when there was a stark difference between a player’s performance in the 1st and the 2nd innings. For example, In the India’s tour of Australia in 2007/08, Sachin Tendulkar scored 493 in 4 Tests, only 53 of these runs came in the 2nd innings of the game. Proving that while Sachin gave his all in the 1st innings, there was nothing to show in the 2nd innings. We shall look the list of players who either went big and scored a double century or got out for a nothing, i.e. a duck!

1. Dudley Nourse (South Africa): 0 & 231 v Australia, 1935:

Dudley Nourse in the early days of the game was one of the better South African batsmen. He lost a chunk of his career to the 2nd World War. That though wasn’t before his brilliant innings in December 1935 against Australia. His side was bowled out for a mere 157 in the 1st innings and Nourse had a duck to his name. Trailing by 93 runs in the 2nd innings, Nourse toiled hard to get his side in the game. He scored 231 runs and with that, he got his side out of danger. Due to his heroics, the game ended in a draw. This was also the first such instance where a player scored a double century and a duck in the same game.
