The team from Multan were the last entrants to the bandwagon of PSL. The franchise has finished both of their campaigns just above Lahore Qalandars. They have superstars like Andre Russell, Steve Smith, Mohammad Abbas and Shahid Afridi in their line-up. Multan Sultans need a thinking captain who can utilize the resources smartly, and Ravi Ashwin can do that role perfectly.

The Multan franchise can bring an end to their unsuccessful run under Ashwin’s leadership. Ashwin has not led the Indian team but he has been the deputy of Virat Kohli on numerous occasions and has the experience of leading the domestic side of TN. In 2018 when the Punjab franchise revamped their squad he was made the skipper, and in a couple of seasons, he has been impressive with his tactics which includes 4 wins in 6 matches of IPL 2019. By joining the Multan team he can pair up with the legend Afridi and can hunt the opposition batsmen.
