Ben Stokes recently played one of the great attacking Test innings against South Africa. Stokes scored the second fastest double century in Test history which was an utter joy to watch and those fans that were at Newlands to see it, must have been enriched by the experience. Stokes’ destructive knock produced 258 from 198 balls with 30 fours and 11 sixes. Stokes is that rare thing in English cricket: a true allrounder, and what is more a pugnacious as well as talented one, naturally combative, not cowed by confrontation. His 9 T20Is innings have produced 86 runs and 4 wickets. His 60 T20s have yielded 1075 runs and 26 wickets. England will rely  heavily on him and Jos Buttler if they are to do well in India.
