The ICC World Cup 2011 was all Yuvraj Singh’s World Cup. No one knew that he was battling cancer during the tournament and he gave his 100% during every game. He gave Dhoni a 5<sup>th</sup> bowling option, bowling 10 overs in almost every match. <p>The first ever ICC World T20 needed something big to make it a success and Chris Gayle gave it a start by hitting the first ever century in T20 internationals. But it was Yuvraj Singh that gave the tournament its real identity in the match against England. India was already on their way to a decent total thanks to 136 runs opening partnership between Sehwag (68) and Gambhir (58).</p>
<p>But when Yuvraj Singh arrived on the crease in the 17<sup>th</sup> over, England had no idea what was going to hit them the next over. Yuvi had an argument with Andrew Flintoff and it was a young Stuart Broad who paid for it, as Yuvraj launched all of his 6 balls in that over for huge sixes. In fact his onslaught gave him a 50 off just 12 balls; the fastest ever recorded international fifty. India finished the innings with 218 runs and despite a good effort by England, won the match by 18 runs.</p>

<p>India met Australia in the semi-finals of the 2007 World T20 and once again, it was Yuvraj Singh who made sure, India got to a good total. He demolished the attack consisting of Brett Lee, Mitchell Johnson and Nathan Bracken, making 70 runs off just 30 balls including 5 sixes. India made 188 runs and a good bowling performance by the Indian team took them to the finals, beating Australia by 15 runs.</p>

<p>The ICC World Cup 2011 was all Yuvraj Singh’s World Cup. No one knew that he was battling cancer during the tournament and he gave his 100% during every game. He gave Dhoni a 5<sup>th</sup> bowling option, bowling 10 overs in almost every match. His best all round performance came against Ireland when he picked up 5/31 in the Irish innings, after making 50* while setting a target.</p>
<p>Another of his brilliant performances came against West Indies, when he scored his first World Cup century a score of 113 and ensured that India had enough runs in the bank despite a familiar collapse in the end overs. Yuvraj was rightly awarded the Man of the tournament after India won its second 50 over World Cup title.</p>

<p>India met Australia in the knock out quarterfinal at Ahmedabad. Australia made a fighting 260, thanks to a brilliant and masterful century from their captain Ricky Ponting. India in reply had a good start with Sachin Tendulkar and Gautam Gambhir making half centuries. But when Dhoni fell for 7 at 187 on board, India still had 70 odd runs to get and Yuvraj along with Suresh Raina made sure that India got to that total. Yuvi remained unbeaten on 57, while Raina contributed 34 runs of 28 balls and India advanced to the semi-finals of the tournament, where they faced arch-rivals Pakistan at Mohali.</p>
