Saturday, August 15- India was busy basking in the glory of their 74th Independence Day even though the COVID-19 pandemic has been wreaking havoc. However, after the sun bid goodbye to the day, two of India’s iconic cricketers also decided to pull the curtains down on their careers. MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina will no longer be seen, donning the national colours.

To start with, it was the 39-year-old Dhoni, who called it a day. The Ranchi boy didn’t play any form of cricket for over a year after the 2019 semi-final against New Zealand in the World Cup. From there on, there has been loads of reports and opinions on his retirement. But instead of falling for the chaos all around, Dhoni chose to stay mum and waited for the apt time.

Indian cricket was about to experience another jolt. A while later, Raina also bid goodbye. He uploaded a picture where he was sitting beside Dhoni with other Chennai Super Kings members around. In his post, he proudly joined Dhoni in his journey.

He captioned the picture and wrote, “It was nothing but lovely playing with you, @mahi7781 . With my heart full of pride, I choose to join you in this journey. Thank you India. Jai Hind! 🇮🇳.”

The Super Kings didn’t forget to pay tribute to the popular duo. The IPL franchise uploaded an adorable video, showing Dhoni and Raina’s journey together. CSK captioned the picture and wrote, “Two roads converged on a #yellove wood… #Thala #ChinnaThala #73Forever.”
