Ross Taylor is one of the finest batters to play for New Zealand. He announced his retirement from international cricket on 4 April 2022 after representing his country for 16 years. Taylor’s last game was against the Netherlands at Hamilton. 

He is the first New Zealand batsman, who played 100 matches across all formats of cricket. He represented the Kiwis in the 450 matches which is a record for most international appearances for New Zealand. He scored 18,199 runs for New Zealand which is the most by any batsman.

He made his debut in international cricket on 1 March 2006 against West Indies. Since then, he was tremendous, and whenever the team needed an outstanding performance, he delivered. He played 450 matches for New Zealand and scored 18,199 runs with the help of 40 centuries and 93 half-centuries. He was a part of four World Cup campaigns and carried the team to the finals in the 2019 World Cup.
