9 Cricketers and their Super Hero Cousins: Modern cricket is growing leaps and bounds steadily but surely both in terms of popularity of the sport and also the quality of cricket that we get to see. The intensity and the level of play is getting better and better every day. With the advent of the T20 cricket, the game has become more famous and we are getting to witness some unreal improvisations by the players, some extraordinary fielding efforts and many more. Sometimes we run short of acronyms to describe the marvelous athletes of this generation. So what if we compare our incredible cricketers with the superheroes of the fantasy world? Here is the result of the creative activity that we undertook: 1. Abraham Benjamin de Villiers and Superman: AB de Villiers RCB. (Photo Source: BCCI) Superman is one of our favorite and an unforgettable childhood heroes, isn’t he? Superman possesses super human strength and destroys his adversaries at will. Now AB de Villiers does the same with the bowlers that he faces, dispatching their deliveries at will. Superman is fearless and selfless. ABD is fearless, goes for his shots bravely and selflessly and is a perfect team-man. Superman does everything. De Villiers literally excels at everything be it Badminton, Tennis, Science, Cricket and so on. Lastly, Superman is humble. With all the things that he’s achieved, we can never ever find a pinch of arrogance in ABD’s demeanor, there is always a profound sense of humility in the way he behaves and talks. 2. Dwayne Bravo and Spiderman: Dwayne Bravo CSK. (Photo Source: BCCI) Spiderman is the one that hops around buildings and has perfect balance and is athletic. Here is DJ Bravo the super athlete from West Indies who is an unbelievable fielder who has taken some jaw-dropping catches. He possesses great reflexes and agility just like Spidey. Spidey uses his Spider Sense, but I don’t know what Bravo uses, but he sure is a brilliant athlete jumping around the cricket pitch taking unreal catches and with such balance is amazing. 3. David Warner and Flash: David Warner SRH. (Photo Source: BCCI) Now Flash is a super hero who runs at an unimaginable speed. He crosses places in no time. And here we have a flash in cricket that is Dave Warner. This incredible runner between the wickets is also an extraordinary fielder who is so brisk and speedy. Surely flash suits him more than any other cricketer. 4. Chris Gayle and Hulk: Chris Gayle RCB.(Photo Source: BCCI) Chris Gayle is the incredible Hulk of cricket. As we all know, Hulk is known for his inhuman physical strength. And here we have Christopher Henry Gayle who can clear the biggest of grounds with such ease. He sure doesn’t have the bat speed of MS Dhoni or Kieron Pollard, so it is indeed so amazing how he manages to dispatch the balls with so much power. Surely Gayle has some unreal strength as he has hit the most sixes in the IPL and is the most feared batsman. 5. Rohit Sharma and Hitman (Agent 47): Rohit Sharma MI. (Photo Source: BCCI) Known for his stealth, Hitman is one of the most popular Super hero character of our generation. He is a silent assassin who can plot the downfall of his enemies when they least expect it. Now here is our Rohit hitman Sharma. He might not look big like a Pollard or a Gayle, but he is a silent assassin and can take the game away from you in a fashion that will not give you slightest of a chance to make a comeback. 6. Sunil Narine and Batman: Sunil Narine KKR. (Photo Source: BCCI) Narine is a mystery spinner. The Batman is a mysterious character as well. No one knows what he’s up to but him. He possesses lots of gadgets that he can use anytime to defeat his opponents. Likewise, Narine has lot of tricks in up his sleeves, like the top spinner, the doosra, the carom ball, the quicker delivery, etc.. There lives a genius above his shoulders. 7. MS Dhoni and Iron Man: MS Dhoni CSK. (Photo Source: BCCI) The Iron Man has a genius level intellect that enables him to invent devices. Here we have a genius captain in captain cool- MS Dhoni, the man who owns all ICC trophies that a captain could aspire for. MSD is a master tactician who marshals his troops wisely and plays some outrageous shots like the helicopter shot. He sure is a man of iron- the iron man of cricket. 8. Virat Kohli and Wolverine: Virat Kohli RCB 2015. (Photo Source: BCCI) Both are extremely animated personalities and are prone to anger quite easily. Virat is the gem of Indian cricket now, but is an angry young man who gets involved in arguments with umpires, players and sometimes fights with fans as well. Nevertheless he is a good person by heart and is the Wolverine of cricket. 9. Kieron Pollard and He-Man: Kieron Pollard MI. (Photo Source: NDTV) He-Man is a powerhouse capable of lifting heavy objects and is a muscle man. Here is Kieron Pollard who can muscle the ball out of the ground at will. He is a tremendous power hitter and if you miss your line by an inch you are sure to get destroyed.
