The <strong>Border–Gavaskar Trophy</strong> is a Test series, played between India and Australia and has witnessed some of the most competitive series played over the last decade. It is a four Test match affair played twice in every four years in home and away contests occurring 9 to 10 months apart. <p>The <strong>Border–Gavaskar Trophy</strong> is a Test series, played between India and Australia and has witnessed some of the most competitive series played over the last decade. It is a four Test match affair played twice in every four years in home and away contests occurring 9 to 10 months apart. The series is named after Australia&#8217;s Allan Border and India&#8217;s Sunil Gavaskar, both of whom scored over 10,000 Test runs in their career and captained their respective teams with distinction at the Test level. The first series of the Border Gavaskar trophy was played in 1996-97 with India, the hosts winning it 1-0. India and Australia have both won the trophy six times each out of the 13 series played so far.</p>

<h4><strong>2. The Pataudi Trophy:</strong></h4>

<p>The <strong>Pataudi Trophy</strong> is awarded to the winner of the England-India Test series held in England. The trophy itself was designed and made by Jocelyn Burton and is named after the Pataudi cricketing family. It was first awarded in 2007 to commemorate the 75 years since the first Test match between the two sides. England currently hold the trophy, having retained it by beating India in 2014. India won the first edition of the series in England in 2007. Out of the 3 series played so far under the header England have won 2 while India got their hands on it once.</p>
<h4><strong>3. Gandhi-Mandela series:</strong></h4>

<p>Though the idea was floating from quite some time, it was finally decided recently that all future series between India and South Africa will be played under the title of &#8216;The Mahatma Gandhi-Nelson Mandela Series&#8217;. The Board of Control for Cricket in India and Cricket South Africa also declared that the trophy will be named &#8216;Freedom Trophy&#8217;, in honour of the two political figures who were also great freedom fighters for their nations, which will be up for grabs in future Test series between the two nations. The first Gandhi Mandela series was played in October last year when South Africa came to India for a 72 day long tour.</p>
<h4><strong>4. Basil D&#8217;Oliveira Trophy:</strong></h4>

<p>The Test series under this trophy is played between England and South Africa. The trophy is named after<strong> Basil D&#8217;Oliveira,</strong> a South African born English Test cricketer whose inclusion in the English squad to tour South Africa in 1968-69 led to the cancellation of the tour following objections from South African authorities due to D&#8217;Oliveira&#8217;s classification as &#8220;coloured&#8221;. England won the inaugural edition of the series in 2004 while South Africa have been proud holders of the trophy 2 times with the 2009-10 series in South Africa being drawn.</p>
<h4><strong>5. Chappell–Hadlee Trophy:</strong></h4>

<p>The <strong>Chappell–Hadlee Trophy</strong> in cricket is a One Day International cricket series between Australia and New Zealand. It is named after legendary cricketing families from the two countries, the Chappell brothers (Ian, Gregory, and Trevor) of Australia and Walter Hadlee and his three sons (Barry, Dayle and Sir Richard), of New Zealand. The trophy is currently held by New Zealand, after they defeated Australia in the league match of the 2015 Cricket World Cup. Australia has recorded four series wins to New Zealand&#8217;s two while 2 series have been tied. The trophy was contested annually from 2004–05 until 2009–10 as a three- or five-match series, and as a one-match series during the World Cups in 2010–11 and 2014-15.</p>
<h4><strong>6. The Wisden Trophy:</strong></h4>

<p>The <strong>Wisden Trophy</strong> is awarded to the winner of the Test cricket series played between England and the West Indies. It was first awarded in 1963 to commemorate the 100th edition of Wisden Cricketers&#8217; Almanack. The trophy is named after the famous cricketing publisher Wisden. To date, a total of 23 Wisden Trophy series have been played, with West Indies winning 13 and England 6. Brian Lara is the top scorer in the Wisden Trophy series with 2983 runs, while Curtly Ambrose is the leading wicket taker with 164 wickets.</p>
<h4><strong>7. Warne–Muralidaran Trophy:</strong></h4>

<p>The <strong>Warne–Muralitharan Trophy</strong> is awarded to the winner of the Australia–Sri Lanka Test cricket series from 2007–08 season onwards. The trophy is named after the two leading wicket takers in Test cricket, Sri Lanka&#8217;s Muttiah Muralitharan and Australia&#8217;s Shane Warne was started to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Australia–Sri Lanka Test cricket ties. The trophy features casts of the two bowlers&#8217; right hands and match-used cricket balls bowled by them during their careers. Australia have won three out of the four series played so far under the trophy.</p>
<h4><strong>8. Frank Worrell Trophy:</strong></h4>

<p>The <strong>Frank Worrell Trophy</strong> is awarded for the winner of the West Indies – Australia Test series. The trophy is named after the former West Indies captain Sir Frank Worrell, and was first awarded at the end of the 1960–61 series.<span style="font-size: 11.6667px;"> </span>Along with the Ashes, the Frank Worrell Trophy, is considered to be one of the most respected trophies in the world of cricket. Out of the 23 series Australia have won 13 while West Indies have won 8.</p>

<p>The<strong> Ashes</strong> is known as the clash of two continents, two nations and a great rivalry between the England and Australia. The name of this tournament has an interesting story, when England was beaten by Aussies in 1882, one of the Journalists of that era wrote an Obituary, &#8216;in affectionate remembrance of English cricket which died at The Oval. The body will be cremated and the Ashes taken to Australia.&#8217; The Australian supremacy was reluctantly accepted and then England took a pledge that it will be taking back its ‘Ashes’ and they did it in very next series by winning the tournament. The Ashes are a five Test affair played twice every four years in England and Australia. Overall, Australia has won 32 series, England 32 while five series have been drawn.</p>
