MS Dhoni stepped down as the skipper of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) franchise on 24th March 2022. The 40-year-old, who has been at the helm of affairs for the CSK side ever since the inception of the Indian Premier league has now decided to pass on the baton.
Ravindra Jadeja will now don the skipper’s hat for the CSK side in the 2022 IPL season. And, another cricketing colossus, Virat Kohli took to Instagram to pay tribute to MS Dhoni. Kohli stated that Dhoni’s captaincy tenure in the yellow colours was a legendary one.
Kohli also added that the veteran’s reign as the skipper of the CSK side is a chapter that the fans will not forget. The 33-year-old posted a picture of him hugging Dhoni. “Legendary captaincy tenure in yellow skip. A chapter fans will never forget. Respect always,” read the post from Kohli. This post has already garnered over 13 lakh likes till the time of writing.

MS Dhoni has led the CSK side to four IPL titles
MS Dhoni will qualify as one of the greatest captains in the history of the IPL. The 40-year-old cricketing colossus has led the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) side to four IPL titles during his tenure as the leader of the side. Dhoni is also the only cricketer to lead in over 200 matches in IPL cricket.
With the bat too, the right-handed batting icon boasts of incredible numbers. Dhoni has played a staggering 220 matches in IPL cricket and has scored 4746 runs in his career at an average of close to 40 and a strike rate of 135.83. The legendary cricketer has also amassed 23 half-centuries in his IPL career as well.
MS Dhoni and the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will be seen on the field on 26th March 2022 when they take on the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) side in the opening match of the 15th season of the IPL. This encounter is slated to take place at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
