Mitchell McClenaghan, the New Zealand fast bowler, may not be having plying his trade for the national team at the highest level. However, the speedster has every reason to rejoice in his personal life. The pacer has recently tied the knots with girlfriend Georgia England. The duo has been seeing each other for quite some time and announced their engagement on August 2019.
Georgia took to her Instagram account to confirm the news of their marriage. Around a week ago, the cricketer shared a picture with Georgia and wrote, “Not long now’. Later in January 6, McClenaghan thanked one and all for showering love and praises on them. He also cheekily said that his phone kept ringing throughout the day and he was pleasantly surprised.
He took to Twitter and wrote, “Thanks for the pre messages from people who couldn’t come to our special day. But what I realised is, you know you’ve got the people you love in one room when your phone doesn’t go off once during the day! #mrandmrsmcclenaghan #howgood”.
In the meantime, Mumbai Indians, an IPL franchise for whom Mitchell plays, congratulated the couple on the auspicious occasion. In the picture, both were seen, wearing the Mumbai Indians’ jersey. They captioned the picture and wrote, “Here’s wishing @_georgiaengland and @mitch_m81 a very happy married life,”
McClenaghan didn’t miss out on spotting the post. He took to his Instagram story to express his gratitude towards the four-time IPL champions, led by Indian vice-captain Rohit Sharma.

The picture which the MI used was the same one, which Georgia used when he had visited India for the 2019 edition of the IPL. As far as Mitchell’s number of the team is concerned, he was an important member of the title winning squad in 2015. He has played 56 matches for MI and has taken 71 wickets at a bowling average and economy rate of 25.39 and 8.49 respectively.
For the Kiwis, the pacer has played 48 ODIs and 29 T20Is and has taken 82 and 30 wickets respectively. He was also given the T20 Player of the Year by New Zealand Cricket (NZC) for his performances during the 2013-14 season.
