Former Indian opener Aakash Chopra recently expressed his views on mid-season transfer window for the players in the IPL. His opinion has come at a time when some of the big stars of world cricket are warming the bench and missing out on the action.
The players like Corey Anderson and Trent Boult are yet to take the field this season. In such a situation, the mid-season transfer window would always help the case of the players and the injury-plagued sides like the Rising Pune Supergiants. Teams that are struggling with injuries would be willing to rope in such players and more importantly, they will not have to wait for the replacements to arrive in the country.
Batting for the same issue, Aakash Chopra tweeted, “Corey & Boult haven’t played…Steyn, Guptill have hardly played. There’s a strong case for a transfer-window during the IPL too.”

He joined the list of many cricket experts have spoken about the need for the IPL to have a mid-season transfer and loan window to trade cricketers.
The Rising Pune Supergiants and the Royal Challengers Bangalore have lost a few key players succumbing to injuries. The RPS, for instance, lost Kevin Pietersen mid-season and named Usman Khawaja as his replacement. But as it stands out to be, Khawaja had to get all his documentations done for the visa and this eventually took quite some time for him to arrive and join the side. Had there been a scope for mid-season transfer, RPS could have opted for someone like Martin Guptill, who has got just one game to play so far this season for the Mumbai Indians.
