Aakash Chopra builds World T20 XI by picking one player from each country; chooses Jasprit Bumrah over Virat Kohli

Coronavirus pandemic has forced the cricketers to spend most of their time on social media platforms. Moreover, many of the players are coming out with different teams across different formats. In the meantime, Aakash Chopra, the Indian commentator is quite active on social media.

He recently picked his India-Pakistan Test XI and now, has come out with another team. He has picked his World XI in the shorter format that comprises of one player from each country.

Cricketing fraternity in India is under quarantine after India PM Narendra Modi announced lockdown in the country. Moreover, the cricket associations and board have also postponed all the series as well as tournaments for an indefinite period. There is no update when the international matches will begin going into the future.

In this time the cricket fans might not be getting the taste of enthralling games on the field. But at least they are getting to know the opinion of their favourite cricketers and former players.

Aakash Chopra picks an interesting World T20I XI

Aakash Chopra, the former Indian cricketer turned commentator shared a video on his YouTube channel in which he can be spotted picking his World XI T20 team with only one player from each country. He picked David Warner and Jos Buttler as his favourite set of openers.

Surprisingly, he didn’t include, Rohit Sharma, the prolific Indian opener, at that position. Kiwi batsman Colin Munro was given the position to bat at number three in the team followed by Babar Azam and AB de Villiers on fourth and fifth position respectively.

He picked Shakib Al Hasan and Andre Russell as the two all-rounders, who have earned the reputation of some finest players in the shorter format on the back of the impact they create in the match. Interestingly, he picked two leg-spinners in the team– Rashid Khan and Sandeep Lamichhane.

The former Indian cricketer didn’t compromise in the fast bowling department of his team and included lethal pace duo of Jasprit Bumrah and Lasith Malinga.

While picking the World XI, Aakash Chopra also accepted the fact that he is handicapped and can’t pick players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. The 32-year-old also clarified that he has the liberty to pick only one player from each country. So, he picked Jasprit Bumrah as one of them.
