Kartik Tyagi has been in amazing form in the ongoing U19 World Cup.
Former Indian cricketer turned commentator, Aakash Chopra has heaped praise on Kartik Tyagi for his exceptional performances in the ongoing Under-19 World Cup which is being played in South Africa. He was impressed with the youngster after his show in the semi-final against Pakistan U19 which India won by 10 wickets.
This match saw India bowling out Pakistan for a mere 172 runs in 43.1 overs, thanks to the brilliant bowling performances from Shushant Mishra (8.1-0-28-3), Ravi Bishnoi (10-0-46-2) and the second-best bowler for India in this tournament, Kartik Tyagi (8-0-32-2).
Tyagi was on song from the last match against Australia itself. He returned with the bowling figures of 4-24 in the eight overs in the quarter-final. He struck in the first over of the innings twice to rock Australia in the chase and then came back to pick a couple more scalps. Tyagi took the all-important wickets of Mackenzie Harvey, Lachlan Hearne, Oliver Davies and Patrick Rowe, all being the middle-order batsmen from the team down under.
His performance also helped India win the match by 74 runs. Kartik Tyagi has been the cornerstone of India’s success in the tournament as he has picked 11 wickets at an exceptional average of 10.90 in five innings.
Aakash Chopra’s tweet for Karti Tyagi
Akash Chopra has heaped praise about the young bowler’s performance in this tournament. He said that Tyagi is an impressive young bowler, with a good pace and has the ability to swing the ball both ways. He also said that Tyagi’s length is a bit on the fuller side, which makes him tough for any batsman to face. He also added that seeing a young fast Indian bowler like him is a much happier sight to the eyes of any cricket fan.
“Kartik is impressive. Good pace. Swings the ball both ways. Length also on the fuller side. Nothing makes you happier than watching a young Indian FAST bowler in action. #IndvPak #U19CWC,” his tweet read. Meanwhile, India U19 are awaiting their opponents for the final. The second semi-final is set to be played between New Zealand and Bangladesh on Thursday.
