With the coronavirus spread getting serious day by day, the questions about the happenings of the IPL has been doing rounds everywhere. With the country going through a 21-day lockdown, IPL 2020 could be cancelled. This could mean quite bad for some of the players.

With the men’s T20 World Cup in October, IPL would be a great place to sit down and evaluate the final 15 for the tournament. Cricketer-turned-commentator Aakash Chopra uploaded a Facebook video in which he made a list of players who will suffer the most if the IPL gets cancelled.

According to the former Indian opener, the five players who will suffer the most if the IPL doesn’t take place. Chopra listed out five names and the first name of the list was of Suresh Raina. According to Chopra, the left-handed batsman of Chennai Super Kings hasn’t played any international match since 2018, making him least likely to stage a comeback. He also pointed out that the chances of Raina’s comeback will take a massive hit if IPL doesn’t happen.

Furthermore, Krunal Pandya has been out of the side due to the presence of Yuzvendra Chahal, Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav. Chopra believes the only way Krunal Pandya can make a comeback is by playing well in the IPL.

Aakash Chopra also includes Sanju Samson in the list

Another player according to Chopra is Shivam Dube. During the absence of Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dube has played a few matches but he couldn’t impress everyone as much as he would have liked. Chopra pointed out that Hardik is prone to injury and India would want to have a replacement ready in case, something happens to the star all-rounder.

Chopra also included the name of Sanju Samson in the list. Samson has got a couple of opportunities of playing in the Indian team for the past few months but he hasn’t been able to use it properly. Something similar happened in the T20 series in New Zealand. IPL could be a place where Samson can perform and prove his credibility.

The last name in the list was of Rishabh Pant. Pant has had a tough time since the last World Cup. He was the regular keeper for India until KL Rahul was handed over the gloves. With Rahul in good batting form, Pant is unlikely to make a cut into the side unless he performs well at the IPL.
