Aakash Chopra picks India's Test and T20I XIs to play on the same day
KL Rahul to lead India's T20I XI.
There are many talks that the international teams might play Tests and T20Is simultaneously post COVID-19 to compensate for the lost time. Recently, Ajit Agarkar and MSK Prasad came up with their Indian teams for Tests and T20Is if the national team decides to play both the formats simultaneously. On Sunday, former Indian cricketer cum commentator Aakash Chopra joined the bandwagon.
There were many questions on Rohit Sharma’s place – whether to pick in the Test side or in T20I side. However, Chopra went with the Test side as the dashing opener Rohit opens with Mayank Agarwal in his Test XI. Promising and consistent Pujara takes the no.3 slot with Virat Kohli taking No.4 and captain position of the Test side.
The most promising Ajinkya Rahane takes the deputy role and Hanuma Vihari is assigned the No.6 batting slot. Wriddhiman Saha, who’s one of the best keepers in the world, took the gloveman duties in the Test side. Ravi Ashwin is the lone spinner in the XI with Kuldeep Yadav taking the 12th man role. Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav form the pace attack.
