Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra is simply enjoying his role as a commentator and cricket analyst in the recent times. Currently, he is the commentary panel for the 2017 edition of the IPL. Throughout the season, the former Delhi cricketer has been very vocal about his opinions on the tournament and the performances. More importantly, his insights to the real time live action while being in the commentary box were a treat to listen to.
Many believe he is one of the better commentators of the modern day cricket kudos to his updated knowledge of the game. Recently, Aakash Chopra picked up his All Time IPL Dream XI team. He chose Chris Gayle and Gautam Gambhir as the openers in his lineup. Gayle has the record for most sixes in the tournament and is also the record holder for the highest individual score in the tournament.
On the other hand, Gautam Gambhir has been a pillar stone for Kolkata Knight Riders in the recent times with two IPL championships to his name. In at number, Aakash Chopra has Virat Kohli. The Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper had lit up the 2016 edition with 4 centuries in the edition.
Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma comes in next and has been a perennial performer in IPL too. The Chennai Superkings duo of Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni come in next. The two players were separated last year when Raina went in the Gujarat Lions camp and Dhoni was bagged by the Rising Pune Supergiant. Dwayne Bravo, the cheerful all-rounder, has a mention in the side too.
He has been a proud holder of the Purple Cap in the history of the IPL. KKR’s Sunil Narine and veteran leggie Amit Mishra are the two spinners in the lineup chosen by Aakash Chopra.
