Aakash Chopra under fire after predicting England and Pakistan as finalists of T20 WC 2021
England and Pakistan have secured victories in all the three matches they have played in the tournament so far.
The former India cricketer and commentator Aakash Chopra is placed under major scrutiny for his prediction of the mega event. He took it to his official Twitter account to predict the finalists of the T20 World Cup 2021. He feels that England and Pakistan will face each other in the summit clash of the high-profile event.
Both the teams have had a splendid run in the tournament so far. England and Pakistan have secured victories in all the three matches they have played in the tournament so far. Owing to this, they are placed at the top of their respective groups. Their golden form and performances prompted Chopra to predict that the two teams could possibly play the finals.
However, this did not go quite well with the Indian fans as they criticized the former cricketer for the same. They blamed Chopra for overlooking the Indian team which has played just one game in the mega event so far.
Here is how the cricket on-lookers reacted to Aakash Chopra’s prediction:
These reactions from the netizens forced Chopra to come with another Tweet wherein he quoted famous American writer Mark Twain. He wrote: Aapki language bhaisaab…👌Aap ko ghar par tehzeeb toh sikhai hogi? Aur school-college toh gaye hi honge?I didn’t tell you what Mark Twain said that day…he said…‘It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.’
India aiming to secure their first win of the tournament
India locked horns with Pakistan for their opening fixture of the T20 World Cup 2021. Though the Virat Kohli-led side entered the match as favorites to win, the Men in Green dominated the proceedings by registering a thumping victory by 10 wickets. They thus broke India’s 12 match winning streak in World Cups.
Team India’s next assignment is against the Kane Williamson-led side. Both the teams have lost their first games of the tournament and will be all raring to get to the winning ways. A defeat in this match will affect both the teams’ chances of making it to the semifinals of the marquee event.
