It’s been long that Pakistan team and criticism go altogether due to their bad performances since last year. They have been performing consistently poor in all departments when they take on the field. The players of their team usually drop catches, commit misfields, don’t show consistency in bowling and in batting which in the end becomes a breeding ground for the critics to take a dig over them.
In the last one year, they have got their hattrick in T20Is with three consecutive series defeats. Pakistan won their last series against New Zealand back in 2018 since then they have always been on the losing end. Recently, they faced the biggest upset on their soil in their last decade as they lost a three-match series against the second-string side of Sri Lanka with a clean sweep, although they are still on the top in the T20I team rankings.
Aamer Sohail takes a cheeky dig over the fitness of Pakistan players
Now, the former cricketer Aamer Sohail has found a cheeky way of taking a serious dig over the fitness of the Pakistan team. 43-year-old feels that Sarfaraz Ahmed and Co. don’t look like cricketers and might be preparing for the Olympics or WWE. “In Pakistan cricket these days we are concentrating more on fitness and it appears that we are preparing our players less for cricket and more for the Olympics or WWE Wrestling,” the former player said as quoted by Pak Passion.
In recently concluded World Cup, the skipper of the team Sarfaraz Ahmed had faced the heat of the fans and was brought under the scanner by the former cricketers due to his fitness as he looked very bulky on the field which is not expected from any international player.
Earlier, the newly appointed head coach Misbah-ul-Haq also looked serious about the condition of the players playing in the national squad and had drawn a strict diet plan in order to make his side’s players look fitter and can perform in a more athletic way on the field. Misbah had always given strict orders to stop any intake of biryani or oil-rich red meat meals or sweet dishes.
The upcoming assignment for the green flag nation is to play three-match T20I series and two Test matches against Australia in their continent starting on 3rd November 2019.
