Pakistan stunned the entire world as they stormed into the finals of the Champions Trophy after beating hosts England in a lopsided encounter at the Sophia Gardens in Cardiff. Eoin Morgan wasn’t impressed with the pitch for this semifinal game but Pakistan made better use of it to seal the win by 8 wickets.

It hasn’t been an easy ride for the Pakistanis as they were down and out after the first game where they were thrashed by India. Sarfaraz led his team with conviction and won three games on the bounce – all virtual knockout games – to lead his side into the finals for the first time in Pakistan’s history. South Africa, Sri Lanka and England couldn’t match the skills of Pakistan as all succumbed to some fine bowling by the bowlers of a land which is known to have great fast bowling resources.

Sohail blasts Team Pakistan

While Pakistan fans are rejoicing but a former captain of the country has levelled serious allegations on the national side. Aamer Sohail was seen lashing Sarfaraz and his boys in an interview with a news channel. He said that “Sarfaraz needs to be told that he hasn’t done anything special at all as Pakistan was forced to win the games by someone”. That’s a severe assertion by Sohail belittling the arduous effort put in by the entire team in the last 10 days.

Sohail went on to say that “we all know what happens and what not, and I can’t tell you how they have won the games, I can’t name them”. The former captain sounded very riled and concluded by saying that “Sarfaraz should just play his cricket. We know everyone’s calibre and if you do well we will praise you and vice-versa”.

The timing of Sohail’s comments is not the best. Pakistan are on the verge of making history and the team must be backed. Also, the allegations Sohail is trying to make should never be spoken of without any evidence. Interviews like these, make fans question about the integrity of international cricketers of their nation.
