Prithvi Shaw’s hopes of announcing his arrival at the highest stage of the game ended in a heartbreaking manner when an ankle injury ruled him out of the Test series against Australia. All the eyes were on the highly-rated youngster who began his Test career with a sizzling ton against Windies at home in October last year. A fifty in the warm-up game against Cricket Australia XI further elevated the hype surrounding him before the unfortunate injury saw him returning to India without playing any Test in Australia.
The youngster has still not returned to competitive cricket but his latest Instagram post has made it clear that he is raring to do so. He posted a picture of himself holding the bat as he sought inspiration from ‘Apna Time Aayega’ rap from the upcoming film Gully Boy. The rap has taken the country by storm with youths across the country using it heavily on social media. And 19-year old Shaw also could not refrain from using it, writing, “Aapna Time Aayega… Injury se Fit Hoke…. Mein Aur Run Banayega… Apna Time Aayega… ”

What next for Shaw?
With no more Test assignments before the World Cup in summer, Shaw looks unlikely to return to international circuit any time soon. He is likely to be seen in Indian jersey next when India tours Caribbeans for two Tests against the Windies post the World Cup in England.
But for the time being, he is on the sidelines and is trying his best to hit the ground again. There is a chance that the youngster could return to action during the second four-day games between India A and England Lions next month. The selectors have only announced the squad for the first game and if Shaw recovers fully in time, he is likely to be included in the squad for the second game.
