Aaron Finch becomes the butt of all jokes after twin golden ducks
Finch has bagged two golden ducks in two matches this season.
Veteran Australian batsman Aaron Finch is one of the most celebrated cricketers in the shortest format of the game. Finch is a renowned hitter of the cricket ball who has been a popular name in the Indian Premier League over the years. But in the 2018 edition of the tournament, the hard hitting batsman has made the worst possible start to his journey. Finch arrived late in the tournament and had missed out on playing the first game of the Kings XI Punjab against the Delhi Daredevils.
He had skipped the first game owing to the fact that he got married around the same time back home, in Australia. Well, he did choose his personal life over the sport in that instance. However, he then took a big call to postpone his honeymoon in order to feature in the remainder of the IPL season.
Aaron Finch soon arrived in India and found himself straight in to the playing eleven. The Kings XI Punjab skipper, Ravichandran Ashwin, rightly cited at the toss in the game against Royal Challengers Bangalore that a player of the calibre of Aaron Finch deserves to get straight in to the playing eleven.
Well, things looked pretty sweet till then for the Australian cricketer. It started turning sour when he actually stepped on the field to play. He walked in to bat in the fourth over of the innings against the RCB. Umesh Yadav was the bowler as Finch took guard to play the first ball. On the very first delivery, he was trapped lbw and the umpire ruled him out. He reviewed the decision but in vain. He headed back with a golden duck to his name.
In the next game that he played, against the Chennai Super Kings, he walked out to bat in the 15th over. Again, on the very first delivery, he was trapped lbw by Imran Tahir. He reviewed the decision, again, and in vain, again. With two back to back golden ducks, Finch has become the target of all trolls and memes on the social media. Even the commentators were heard joking about the two golden ducks of Finch on air.
Here is how Aaron Finch has become the butt of all jokes on Twitter:
