Aaron Finch confident of turning it around real quick against India
The Indian team is already in Australia and will start the tour with the three-match T20I series starting November 21.
Aaron Finch and Australia finished one challenge today while a tougher battle awaits them in less than a week. They just got beaten by South Africa in one final contest – the one-off T20I at the Carrara Oval and thus ended up losing both the ODI and T20I series’. Finch, however, is certain his team will be able to put up a better account of itself when they face India.
In a 10-overs a side reduced game, South Africa batted first and posted 108/6, Australia in their response never quite got going and ended up with 87/7 in 10 overs. After the conclusion of the series, Finch said the home team can “turn it around real quick against India.”
The team is hurting
The opener said that despite the results the vibe in the team is positive and thinks they are moving in the right direction. The way Australian cricket is shaped is such that they never want to settle for anything but a victory, when a defeat is forced upon them they show the character to bounce back and that’s what Finch is hoping for as they next face the Indian team.
“The boys are really positive, we’re definitely moving in the right direction. It was amazing in the first place to get a game in. The boys are hurting as much as anyone but we’ll turn it around real quick against India. We have a day off and we’ll be ready to go again by Wednesday,” the Australian skipper said after the T20I.
The Indian team is already in Australia and will start the tour with the three-match T20I series starting November 21, following which the two teams will meet for a four-match Test series followed by three ODIs.
Satisfied Du Plessis
South Africa on the tour won the ODI series 2-1 as well as the one-off T20I quite comfortably. Skipper Faf du Plessis was quite satisfied with the effort in today’s game and said, “I think they got off to a great start with the bat. We did well to pull it back in the end, but they had a lot of runs with them. When the middle-order comes in and has to score at 12-14 rpo, they don’t have a lot of time to knock it around. We just didn’t get the boundaries up front.”
