Australia limited-overs captain Aaron Finch has confirmed that head coach Justin Langer has dealt with the recent team reviews, which had led to the media reports suggesting that there is unrest inside the Australian national team. The talks started floating around after Australia lost the Test series to India at home in quite a dramatic style.

Australia has now traveled to West Indies for a limited-overs series under the leadership of Finch. The skipper said that Langer has taken the team review quite well, addressing it head-on. The leadership consultant of the Aussie team, Tim Ford was involved in the process. Finch further went on to praise Langer for his efforts and also said that the team camp which was set up ahead of the West Indies tour has helped sort some things.

“Over the couple of days on the Gold Coast we had a great camp…the ability for JL to address a few issues that came up in the review with Tim Ford, that was brilliant from him to tackle them head-on, suppose put his side of the story, that shows the quality of the man he is and things he’s working on,” limited-overs captain Aaron Finch said from St Lucia and was quoted by ESPN Cricinfo.

We are all behind him 100%: Finch on Australian being behind Justin Langer

Finch said that Langer has been coaching the national team with a good amount of success in recent times and his confrontation with issues was great. “We are all behind him 100%, the way he’s coached Australia in the last couple of years has been fantastic, I think we’ve had some really good success. No doubt it was quite confronting for him at the time but he took it head-on and it was great. Very positive from our point of view,” the Aussie captain said.

In the season review, there were discussions around how Langer manages the national team and goes about things. Finch maintained that Langer had taken everything in and confronted the problems head-on. He also said that it was accepted by him that there could be assistance used during the Australian summer, especially with all the players living inside the bubbles. Michael Di Venuto along with Andrew McDonald have been assigned to assist Langer for the tours of the West Indies and Bangladesh.
