Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers have been IPL teammates for a long time now and the latter didn’t miss out on praising his former IPL captain for keeping the standards high through his Test captaincy. After the Test series loss to South Africa, Kohli gave up the Test captaincy for India, which has become a piece of shocking news for the experts and the fans. The 33-year-old has been India’s most successful captain in the format’s history in terms of numbers and his impact has been huge.
With 40 wins in 68 Tests, Kohli is among the greatest captains of all time and his friends and family have all been supportive of his brave decision at a time when India has needed him the most. He has worked so hard with the side by taking up the captaincy at the seventh position and India is now at the first position in Tests. He has also been the first Indian captain to win a Test series in Australia and almost pulled off another series victory in England until Covid-19 took a toll.
Here’s AB de Villiers reply to Virat Kohli’s post
AB de Villiers himself had come up with a big shocker this year as he has retired from all forms of cricket and will not be taking part in the IPL 2022. The South African lad has shared the same RCB dressing room with Virat since the 2011 IPL and they have put on some staggering partnerships together over the years. The former Proteas captain lauded Kohli for his achievements and raising the standards of Test cricket in his captaincy tenure.”Well done, Virat! U most definitely raised the bar” AB de Villiers tweeted on Twitter
Well done, Virat! U most definitely raised the bar👏💪

Meanwhile, South Africa scripted a famous series victory against India in the recently concluded Tests and Virat Kohli was among the few batters who had shown a fight in the batting lineup. India came into the country with the tag as favourites but could not play much to that and Rohit Sharma is the likely contender now to take up the captaincy role in Tests for India.
