AB de Villiers' inclusion against India in doubt
The result of the match on Sunday between India and South Africa will determine who will extend their visit to England and who will have to book their tickets home.
The amount of cricket that is played nowadays, it is only a wonder one can last so long. The latest victim of the injury bug is South African skipper AB de Villiers who suffered a tight hamstring injury during the team’s second match against Pakistan. The South African Board has said that he will undergo a fitness test, depending upon which his fate in the match against India will be decided.
On the off chance that de Villiers will miss out Faf du Plessis will once again don the role of captain for the team. The South African coach Russell Domingo is optimistic and expects “Mr 360” to make a do what he does best, i.e taking the bowlers to the cleaners.
“I’m expecting him to put in a big performance on Sunday. He’s that type of player that when the team needs him, he’ll turn it up on Sunday. I’m sure about that,” Domingo said. De Villiers hasn’t been able to do much this Champions Trophy having scored just four runs in two innings. Despite that, his presence in the team re-establishes confidence within itself and also the fans of the Proteas.
“Do or Die”
The result of the match on Sunday between India and South Africa will determine who will extend their visit to England and who will have to book their tickets home. The match will be played at The Oval which has registered high scores in the matches throughout the Champions Trophy. The match between India and Sri Lanka saw the Lankans chase down 321 which more or less means the pitch will stay the same through the whole quota of 50 overs.
The overcast conditions will also aid swing and the pitch has assisted in bounce as well. The stage is set for one blockbuster on Sunday. In doubt is the weather which is prone to play hide and seek but hopefully, it will stay placid throughout and the match is played without any interruptions.
