He is one of a kind: AB on MS Dhoni
South Africa’s ace batsman, AB de Villiers, in a recent interview was all praises for former Indian captain MS Dhoni’s longevity and his hunger to play the game. Mr 360 used superlatives such as “a great cricketer, a great leader and a great man” to describe the Indian stalwarts.
De Villiers, who recently made himself available for in all formats of the game, took us back to the World Cup of 2015 group game in Melbourne, where India thrashed South Africa by a whopping margin of 130 runs. The match is remembered for sensational knocks from Shikhar Dhawan, Ajinkya Rahane and a three wicket haul from Ravichandran Ashwin.
After the match during the presentation, De Villiers could not help himself but ask Mahi about his future plans. To which, MS Dhoni replied something which generated a huge amount of respect from the Protean.
“I’ve mentioned it to people before, I’m not sure who, but I don’t know exactly how he does it. Going non-stop day in and day out. I’ve asked him actually after we played in the World Cup of 2015. India beats us at Melbourne. He stood there at the post match presentation. I asked him how long are you gonna do this for. He said ‘I love every second of it’,” commented AB de Villiers according to his interview with The Ring Side view.

“It was only then I realised he is one of a kind and I’ll always have respect for him for what he has achieved in his career,” concluded AB. It was only a few days back when De Villiers showered praises for India and Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli, claiming that he is the best in the world.
“I enjoy playing with Virat. According to me, he is the best. He says the same about me, but I do not agree with him. The IPL has been an incredible blessing for me and my family,” stated De Villiers.
