Action in the Abu Dhabi T10 League 2021-22 continues as some exciting battles were witnessed on the fourth day of the competition, which took place on Monday (November 22). While Deccan Gladiators defeated Delhi Bulls by nine wickets, The Chennai Braves suffered an eight-wicket defeat against Team Abu Dhabi. Notably, this was Abu Dhabi’s fourth win on the trot.

Speaking of how the first game of the day panned out, Deccan Gladiators registered a massive victory over Delhi Bulls after they chased down a total of 112. After the Gladiators bowled the Bulls out, their opening batsmen Tom Kohler-Cadmore (51* from 19 balls) and Tom Banton (44 from 21 balls) took the game away with an opening partnership of 100 runs in 6.3 overs.

Kohler-Cadmore showed prime form when he smashed Adil Rashid for four sixes in the third over. Banton provided plenty of support from the other end as he smacked Dwayne Bravo for two boundaries in the sixth over. Dominic Drakes dismissed Banton in the seventh over, however, Andre Russell came in and wrapped the up chase with two consecutive boundaries off Dwayne Bravo’s bowling in the eighth over.

Team Abu Dhabi rub ‘Salt’ on Chennai’s wounds

As mentioned above, Team Abu Dhabi registered their fourth consecutive. Chasing a total of 131/2 against The Chennai Braves, Team Abu Dhabi’s opening batsman Philip Salt played an unbeaten innings of 63 runs from 28 balls, laced with 5 fours and 5 sixes to take his team home with 4 balls to spare. Philip Salt and Paul Stirling provided the perfect platform for Team Abu Dhabi with an opening partnership of 88 runs in 6.1 overs.

Salt took on Dhananjaya Lakshan in the first over itself, sending him for a six and a four. Then he smashed Munaf Patel for two sixes and a four in the very next over. Stirling got into the groove in the fourth over when he smacked Roman Walker for one six and two boundaries. The Irishman put even more pressure on The Chennai Braves when he smashed Samiullah Shinwari for three consecutive sixes in the sixth over.

Mark Deyal kept The Chennai Braves in the game when he removed Stirling in the seventh over. Following Stirling’s departure, Captain Liam Livingstone provided fantastic support to Philip Salt with an innings of 24 runs from 10 balls. Livingstone and Salt’s quick-fire stand of 36 runs reduced the equation to 8 runs needed from 6 balls. Salt wrapped up the chase with two consecutive sixes off Dasun Shanaka’s bowling in the last over.
