RR pick a total of 8 players on Day 1 of auction
Meanwhile, as far as the mega auction is concerned, Rajasthan Royals picked a total of 8 players on the opening day of the auction having retained three players before stretching their squad size to 11. Apart from Chahal, they managed to pick Ravi Ashwin, Trent Boult, Prasidh Krishna, Shimron Hetmyer, Devdutt Padikkal, Riyan Parag and KC Cariappa.
They still have a total of INR 12.15 crore in their purse and will be keen on bagging a few more top players in their squad. Maximum of 25 players can be selected in the squad and only 8 of them can be overseas. Including retained players, the Royals have only three overseas players currently and it will be interesting to see which players they go for with their remaining purse.
