Australia’s Adam Voges has been in headline quite a lot these. All eyes are set on him every time he comes out to bat in Tests. One may wonder why? The reason is his batting average.
The 36-year-old Voges seems to be putting all his first class experience to great use and currently ranks as the batsmen with the second best average in Tests (in terms of batsmen with more than 1000 runs). With stellar digits of 95.50 against his name, he sits only next to the great Donald Bradman in terms of best batting average. His popularity has definitely soared due to this.
The right-hander who is currently in Sri Lanka has joined the long list of present and former cricket who have announced their ‘All Time XI.’ His team looks rock solid. Voges has chosen Mathew Hayden and Sachin Tendulkar as the opener of his team. The most important position of the team – The no. three spot – goes to Rickey Ponting. Ponting has also been given the leadership role. The middle order has run machines Brian Lara, Kumar Sangakkara and Jacques Kallis.
Voges has picked Adam Gilchrist as his choice of no.7 and wicket keeper in the team. Hie bowling attack comprises of a wonderful combination. He has lethal pace trio of Glenn McGrath, Stuart Broad, Dale Steyn along with the ‘Sheikh of Tweak’ Shane Warne.
