Australian leg-spinner Adam Zampa has been blessed with a baby and he posted a photo of his newborn child on Instagram in a story. The leg spinner had to miss out on the limited-overs squad to Sri Lanka on account of waiting for his childbirth and he is likely to be back in Australia’s next limited-overs assignment. He has been sensational in the last few years for Australia in the white-ball formats and has guided his side to numerous memorable wins.

The 30-year-old has so far played 67 ODIs and 62 T20Is for Australia so far and has taken 103 and 71 wickets respectively in both the formats. He has a brilliant economy rate of 6.79 in T20 internationals and has troubled some of the best batters going around in the world at the moment. He played an immense role in the T20 World Cup-winning campaign for Australia in 2021 and is part of a strong bowling combination alongside Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins.

Meanwhile, Zampa captioned the photo as ‘Eugene’ on his Instagram story which probably should be the name of his child. Notably, the newly born baby can be seen holding the thumb finger. A lot of cricketers over the years have benefited hugely after the birth of their child and Zampa would be hoping the same in his cricketing career too.

Meanwhile, in Zampa’s absence, Australia picked up Mitchell Swepson and Ashton Agar in the squad for the Sri Lanka tour. However, Swepson did not get a game in the three T20Is, while Agar had a good series in terms of bowling at a good economy rate.

Australia managed to win the series 2-1 against Sri Lanka and have started the tour on a positive note. Skipper Aaron Finch had a terrific series with the bat as he was adjudged the Player of the Series. The Men in Yellow will now play a five-match ODI series against Sri Lanka starting on the 14th of June and it will be followed by a two-match Test series as well.
