Australia star leggie Adam Zampa was up with Melbourne Stars currently, while plying his trade in the ongoing season of Big Bash League. However, he has been hit with a suspension for ‘audible obscenity’ and has been fined AUD 2,500 by Cricket Australia. Zampa was found doing the offence during the Stars’ fight against Sydney Thunders on Tuesday. It is his second transgression in the course of twelve months and this why he has been suspended for the upcoming match against Hobart Hurricanes on Saturday.
He was heard in the stump mic swearing-in utter frustration after the end of his third over. By that time, he proved to be too costly and had leaked 32 runs. Zampa previously indulged in a ‘Level One’ offense against Brisbane heat for using aggressive language and actions, which could have instigated the batter to indulge in some heat. It happened during the last season of KFC’s BBL, and it also handed him a ban of one match.
Adam Zampa doesn’t disappoint ever: Glenn Maxwell
Stars have been struggling without their key players like Marcus Stoinis, Adam Zampa, Nic Maddison, and Nathan Coulter-Nile at various points. On the other hand, Pakistan pacer Dilbar Hussain has been injured after showing a great start in BBL. Stars are currently sitting at the fifth position, having won only out of their total five games and one being washed out. Zampa has become skipper Glen Maxwell’s first choice bowler who comes into play during death overs or in the Power Surge.
“He just keeps doing it … he just doesn’t disappoint ever. A lot of leg-spinners will go hunting for wickets at different stages, but he is just so stuck in his role, so focused and switched on about what the team needs. He just tries to do that as well for the team as he can.”It’s a real credit to him. He puts his own performance aside, doesn’t worry about wickets, and tries to do his best for the team, and it’s brilliant for a leggy to do,” recently said Maxwell about Adam Zampa.
