Adelaide Oval wishes Virat Kohli on his birthday on the scoreboard

Indian Test captain Virat Kohli is celebrating his 28th birthday today. He was with his family last night and cut the cake in the shape of his jersey with number 18. Twitter was flooded with tweets from his teammates, former teammates, some politicians and the millions of his fans. But not just in India that there is excitement about his birthday, the Adelaide Oval also had a special gesture to acknowledge it.

As per the reports, the South Australia Tourism Commission (Adelaide Oval Team) had a special message displayed on the scoreboard for him. Virat has always emphasized the importance of the Adelaide Oval in his career as he has scored his career-best score of 90 in T20Is at the venue against hosts Australia in January 2016.

On his birthday, the South Australia Tourism Commission (Adelaide Oval Team) issued a press release which read: “It is Virat Kohli’s birthday today and his favourite cricket ground – The Adelaide Oval wants to make it memorable! Virat has been vocal about how important the ground has been for him and how he’s achieved major milestones of his career on this cricket ground.”

It further mentioned, “Kohli registered his T20I best of 90 not out in January this year. What’s more, he has had 3 Test hundreds and 1 ODI ton at the venue. The birthday boy himself revealed that he loves playing at the ground and wants to take it with him wherever he goes. He has also stated that his journey has a Test Captain began at the Oval.”

They used the scoreboard at the picturesque stadium beautifully to not just wish Virat on his special day but also displayed his five best scores at the ground. The Indian batting star has termed it one of his favorite grounds and it’s quite a gesture to show him that they reciprocate and respect him for his show at the venue.
