Adil Rashid and his place in the England squad is more or less settled in the context of the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup. With the Brits expected to play at home and are considered overwhelming favourites as well, Rashid and his spin-bowling partner Moeen Ali have been impressive. So impressive that they have been all over the visitors India like a rash.

However, what has been the most satisfying as far as Adil Rashid has been concerned is a simple fact that he has gotten the better of Virat Kohli not once but twice. Rashid, with his leg-breaks ensured that he dismissed Kohli in the first ODI in Nottingham courtesy of some special bowling, in spite of the fact that India won the match. However, he eventually got the better of Kohli in the final ODI as well in Headingley, thus making it a successful tournament for him.

‘Most satisfying ball I have bowled’

Speaking about his bowling prowess to Kohli, Rashid said that the delivery in Headingley was the most satisfying, simply due to the cricketing stature of Virat Kohli in international cricket today. While Rashid quashed the ‘special annotations’ of the delivery, he went on to add that it came off very nicely as opposed to any difference.

‘It was definitely the most satisfying ball I’ve bowled because he is one of the best players in the world,’ said Rashid.

‘It’s the sort of ball you wish you could bowl all the time but on this occasion, it just came out very nicely.’

Not all balls bowled by leg-spinners have any special mentions barring the one Shane Warne bowled Mike Gatting, something that has been termed as the ‘ball of the century’.
